Original oil painting. Following a visit to Venice I have been fascinated by the Venice Carnival and the colour and mystery surrounding the city at this time. I love the sense of mystery behind the mask here. I have used heavy oil paint and palette knife to indicate the feathers floating around the mask.This painting is sold in a white wooden effect frame.
Original oil painting. Following a visit to Venice I have been inspired by the Venice Carnival to capture the colour and mystery of the Venice Masks. No-one knows who is behind the mask - even the sex of the person is not known from looking at the mask alone. I have used texturing around the face to represent feathers.
